A day on the potter’s wheel
At the end of our Day Potter’s Wheel Course, we ask participants to select their favourite two or three pieces to be fired and glazed. This can be a tough call, especially if they’ve had a good day and ended up with a board full of crackers.
We love them all
Our potter’s wheel teaching is unashamedly rooted in technique. That said, we recognise beauty in all shapes. A student may be disappointed with their latest ‘off centre’ effort wobbling around in front of them. Meanwhile, we’re turning cartwheels, unable to contain our excitement at the irregular and unique form. Happy accidents and technical prowess are celebrated with equal enthusiasm at Eastnor Pottery.

Which one will she choose?
Charlotte took to the wheel like a duck to water. Her pots were technically brilliant and numerous. The question was, which ones would she choose to be fired and glazed.
Congratulations Charlotte for choosing probably the most whirly, swirly, wobbly, barely standing vessel over all your immaculate cylinders and traditional shapes. We salute you!
