Potter’s Wheel Weekend Course
Our Weekend Potter’s Wheel Course participants, relaxed and reflecting on their two days work.
Saturday was all about the glorious mess, balls of soft clay, water and slip whizzing around the potter’s wheels. Our participants had an inexhaustible supply of clay and endless opportunities to play and experiment.
Day 2, Sunday vibes.
On Sunday, refinement is the name of the game. Participants re-introduce their pots to the wheels, carefully trimming their Saturday shapes. After lunch, we get the coloured slips and underglazes out. Imaginations run wild and participants express themselves in colour, using a myriad of decorative techniques. We love this stage and it’s so cool seeing how the potters paint individuality on to their pots.
Well done everyone, we can’t wait to get these through the kiln!
This is our most immersive and creative potter’s wheel experience, enabling participants to produce thrown pottery to an extremely high quality and colourful finish. Small group sizes ensure plenty of individual attention and personalised learning. Informative demonstrations, a nurturing environment and friendly, positive tuition – our weekenders learn so much and have the best time ever.
