USP #5 A Class Act

We’re of the opinion activities are best undertaken in a group, there is nothing more energising or nourishing than learning a new skill with others in a class setting. We love the group dynamic of our Potter’s Wheel Introduction Class – fellow humans, sharing the learning and having great fun. It’s an event, an exchange of skill and stories in a joyous environment.

Demo

Once the potter’s wheel class is seated, we kick off with an entertaining and informative potter’s wheel demonstration. We explain the making process in five, easily understandable steps and welcome questions and comments as the demo progresses.

The back shoulder of the pottery tutor sat at the wheel making a cylinder pot, whilst others are looking towards him as he shows them how to make the pot.

Learn a new skill together

After the demo, it’s throw down time! We move through the afore mentioned steps altogether as a group, advancing to the next stage only when everybody’s in a good place. It’s like pottery by numbers..but it just works brilliantly. You get two goes each and are encouraged to swap over in between goes. It’s important to support and encourage your potting partner and we believe you learn just as much by watching as doing!

Friendships are made!

If you book as a solo potter, you’ll be pared with a stranger, which we all know is a friend you haven’t met yet! 😉 If you book as a couple, you’ll have pottery neighbours either side of your wheel. Friendships are forged during the potter’s wheel class at Eastnor Pottery. It’s a social event and we’re at our happiest when community is created.

Couples

Dates, anniversaries, birthdays..so many special occasions and opportunities to share a potter’s wheel class with a loved one. Making a pot on the potter’s wheel is perfect for every intergenerational coupling you can possibly think of too. Mother/Daughter, Grandad/Grandson, we’ve seen them all.
