The extra studio space afforded by our bakeoff style ‘Potting Tent’ marquee has come in very useful of late. We are able to run separate events and workshops co-currently, effectively doubling our capacity.
A few weeks ago a local housing association organisation booked a half day potter’s wheel teambuilding session. When they made the initial enquiry, they asked if we had conferencing facilities at the Pottery. Our ‘can do’ approach prevailed and we invited team leaders to check out our facilities. They were so wowed with the atmosphere and creative environment, they booked the Potting Tent conferencing suite for x2 department’s team meetings on two separate days.
Both events went swimmingly with participants thoroughly enjoying our hospitality, lunch, refreshments and of course, the clay fueled fun on the potter’s wheel.
Here’s what they had to say about their Eastnor Pottery ‘corporate’ experience:
“Yes!!!! From the moment I dropped in to speak to Sarah to make arrangements for our team away day, I knew I’d chosen the right place to hold our team event. Having the use of the potting tent for our morning activities worked really well and everything was close to hand. Food and refreshments were all first class. Cannot fault anything.
Regarding the pot throwing experience, none of us had thrown a pot before, and after Jon’s careful and detailed instruction, we all managed to get something resembling a pot! All of my team thought the day was fantastic and I know many of us went away and have recommended you to friends and family.
Great fun making our selfies too!
Friendly, warm and welcoming to everyone. Informative, encouraging, helpful and made it fun! You made us all feel relaxed and at ease. Thank you” Nikki
We’ve teamed up again with those lovely people at Creative Alliance to offer an exciting job opportunity.
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our small but perfectly formed creative business as a Community Arts Apprentice. You will be assisting in educational workshops in schools, community settings and here at the studio. You will be given full, on the job training in pottery techniques including the potter’s wheel, eventually being able to instruct our customers and workshop participants. The role will also require you to assist in a range of other duties including; helping with glazing, packing kilns, general office administration and gardening.
Both our previous apprentices have gone on to secure full time and part time employment with us having completed their one year apprenticeship.
Don’t delay – apply here!
For those of you familiar with our work will know we have a busy summer of workshops and pottery sessions ahead of us. We will be sharing the many benefits of working with clay, not only from our idyllic Herefordshire studio, but out in the community at festivals and events.
We love getting out there and enjoy the challenge of working with large numbers of participants in fields, community halls and public spaces.

Children’s workshops in the ½ term Holiday
31st May 2017
We are delighted to announce details of our fun, creative and pirate themed children’s workshop sessions planned for the rapidly approaching ½ term holiday.
Youngsters will take a spin on the potter’s wheel to make a pirate galleon filled with rogues and treasure.
Captain Long Jon Potter and his crew of ceramic sea-dogs will be on hand to aid the seafaring creativity:
Those young landlubbers and scallywags who visited the Pottery back in 2006 might recall our ‘Pirates & princesses’ children’s workshops. We reckon everybody loves a bit’ a pirate and the sessions were fit to bursting. Eleven years on, we thought it was high ‘tide’ we hoisted the jolly roger and readied the rowlocks for another voyage of pottery pilfery. We set sail on the 31st . Arrr me hearties!
The children’s terracotta creations will be fired and ready for collection from the Pottery approx. one month later.
Sessions are designed for two age groups although younger and older siblings will never be turned away: 11.30am-1pm 4-8YRS and 2-3.30pm 9-12YRS. Places cost £15 per child with a 10% discount for x3 or more places booked. Telephone or email booking essential. 01531 633886 firstname.lastname@example.org
Hats off to all the lovely families, couples and individuals who took a creative journey in clay with us over the Easter break. We salute your creativity and flair for the mucky stuff!
Good work on the mugs, plates, dragons, owls, elephants, cats, dogs, ducks, fruits, gnomes and pretty much the blooming kitchen sink!
