Artists in education

We’ve been working in education for as long as we’ve been potting. That’s over 30 years of sharing our skills with children and young people. Shudder to think how many youngsters we’ve encountered on our travels around the West Midlands and beyond. Such a wonderful and inspiring part of our practice and one we never tire of.

We’ve collaborated with a multitude of educational partners and organisations and a reletively new relationship has been with Sculpture at Kingham Lodge.

Art in the classroom

Sculpture at Kingham Lodge is a bienniel sculpture exhibition Set in 5 acres of beautiful grounds in the Cotswolds. As well as offering an opportunity for local, national and international artists to exhibit and sell their work, the show funds a generous and impactful schools outreach programme called Cotswolds Arts Through Schools (CATS)

A generous offer

CATS aims to restock art cupboards and music rooms by offering art materials, instruments and teacher training to all local schools. They also run an ambitious visiting artist programme, of which we’ve been proud and privileged to be part of for the past eight years. What’s more, the wonderful work created by the children on the artist residencies is exhibited at the biennial show. The charity buses the participating schools to the exhibition so the children can marvel at their creations exhibited alongside professional sculptors work – an amazing and inspiring outcome!
