Weekend Pottery Course – straight from the horses mouth!

Our customers say the loveliest and most entertaining things

Hazel came and spent the weekend with us learning haw to throw, trim, assemble and paint pottery. Once she had chance to reflect on her time spent at Eastnor Pottery, she took to Facebook to publish photos and wax lyrical about her two day potter’s wheel course.

This is what Hazel said:

“About a month ago I had this weird thing called “a weekend off” ?

I did a thing ! I made stuff it didn’t involve digging, painting houses, scrubbing or serving customers…I loved it!

I forgot to eat, drink, take mutual photos of my throwing buddy Diane and nearly wet myself twice !

Sarah and Jon of Eastnor Pottery warned us this would happen but like most of the things they were trying to tell us over 2 days, it fell on mostly deaf ears as we were all so engrossed in what we were doing.

The snippets we caught between zoning in and out was wonderful, inspiring, easy to follow and most of all encouraging.

My super skill was plonking the clay in the middle of the wheel but getting a pot more than 3 inches high proved too much of a challenge so I went outwards for little plates instead.

My mostest favourite item is the magpie dish but Terry was a little disappointed it wasn’t a real bird and he couldn’t eat it.

At the end of the 2 days you get to choose 3 items to take home or, like me you can opt to go full Smeagol and pay extra to take all the preciouses home.

Thank you Shayne Adams for my special birthday present ( I think it was my 30th birthday this year!?)

I definitely recommend it for turning your brain off, all you can think about is clay.”

Don’t take Hazel’s word for it, come and see for yourself!
