Monumental Ceramics

Where it all began…

As students at Bath Spa University we were taught by the celebrated ceramic artist, Felicity Aylieff. It was ‘Liz’ who recommended Jon for a lecturing post at Stroud School of Art shortly after he’d graduated. Although reticent and extremely nervous at the prospect, it was this opportunity at Stroud that transformed Jon’s practice.

As you can imagine, we have an awful lot to thank Liz for. As well receiving the benefit of her tuition for three years at Bath, it was her belief in our ability as communicators that has helped shape our operation here at Eastnor Pottery.

Prestigious exhibition

‘Liz’ currently has some huge, neigh GIGANTIC pots installed at Kew Gardens in London. The exhibition is called Expressions in Blue and as soon as the show was announced, we had to go see.

The pots are INCREDIBLE, a technical and aesthetical treat for the senses.

Go see for yourself

If you haven’t already seen Expressions in Blue you really need to! The show is on till 23 March 2025 in the Shirley Sherwood Gallery of Botanical Art at Kew Gardens. The pots and obelisks will be (carefully!) packed and transported to Yorkshire Sculpture Park where they will be exhibited 5 April until Sunday 14 September 2025
