Corporate & Team Building

Hands on sessions for businesses and organisations

Are you looking for something to bring your team even closer? Or maybe you just want to reward colleagues or customers with a relaxing, creative activity? Whatever your intention, we’ll have an off the peg or bespoke project designed to promote togetherness and positive relationships in the workplace.

Case study:
Unilever & The Clay Crest Challenge

Unilever were planning a two day meeting in a large hotel in the South East of England. A company representative got in touch and requested a fun ‘breakout’ activity where participants produce something they’d all have a hand in making. They had a two and a half hour window before the evening meal with approx 20 attendees.

Following discussion with the client, we agreed on a collaborative company coat of arms to be fired, framed and installed at their main UK office.

On the day, we turned up in good time with x4 potter’s wheels, tools, clay and plenty of plastic sheets to cover floors and tables.

We kicked off with an ice-breaking and interactive potter’s wheel demonstration. Participants were split into smaller groups – each group responsible for making a separate section of the coat of arms, each section depicting a different aspect of the organisation. As well as the tile making, everybody took turns on the potter’s wheel to produce a ‘thrown’ element to be added to their design.

Individuals got to paint their sections, there and then, before bringing the soft pieces of the jigsaw together to see how the finished crest might look. Once we’d celebrated and commented on each other’s creative talents, we concluded with a heart felt and celebratory round of applause – all very positive vibes!

Once we’d tidied up (leave no trace!) and the tiles safely stowed, we headed back to Herefordshire to fire and professionally frame the ceramic crest. A month later the Unilever Coat of Arms was transported to HQ and installed in the reception area – a permanent reminder to employees and visitors of what can be achieved by working together.

A Memorable Experience

We’re all about making memories. If we can create a space where people feel valued and inspired, whether it’s at the Pottery or out in the wider community, we consider it a job well done. We love what we do and trust you will too.
