As one might expect, the group size we entertain here at Eastnor Pottery has shrunk somewhat in 2020. Where as we regularly worked with between 12 – 20 people in one sitting, recent parties haven’t exceeded anymore than x6 participants.

We are chuffed to report despite the small participant numbers, the quality of what we offer remains consistently high.

Take Arjun and his family for example.

These guys spent a weekend in Herefordshire celebrating dad’s special birthday. They walked the Malvern Hills, ate out and finished up with our Introduction to the Potter’s Wheel.

Arjun wrote a five star review – Thanks Arjun!:

“We booked Jon’s pottery experience to celebrate our father’s birthday. From the moment we arrived Sarah & Jon were both very accommodating and friendly. None of our group had any previous experience with pottery but with Jon’s guidance (and patience!) we all made some pots which we could be proud of! Overall, I would highly recommend this experience to anyone who is thinking of trying something different and wants to do a group activity during a weekend break.”

Any body visiting the studio over the Summer months will get the opportunity to model and paint a beach scene using real clay and ceramic paints.

Although the project is primarily aimed at families, it might also inspire some of our regular potter’s wheel enthusiasts to try their hand at clay modelling as a creative alternative.

The mini-masterpieces will need to be dried, fired and glazed before they can be collected from the studio a few weeks later. P+P can be arranged at £5.

The 1 & ½ hr sessions are designed for potters 4yrs and upwards and places cost £20 per person.

Sessions start at 9.30am, 11.30am and 2pm and take place Tuesday – Saturday in the school holidays.

Although we are closed at the moment we intend to reopen 1st July 2020 and are currently taking bookings. Please call the Pottery on 01531 633886 or email admin@eastnorpottery.co.uk to book your place(s).

Clay bugs and mud monsters!

1 July – 7 September

We’re delighted to announce details of our fun and creative themed workshops for families in the approaching summer holiday.

Clay bugs and mud monsters! is the inspirational title and participants will learn how to create a hollow bug or fantastical beast using soft clay under the expert tutelage of our professional potters. The fun doesn’t just stop with the hand making. Participants also get to decorate their freshly created masterpieces, there and then with a colourful palate of paints and under-glazes. All this for just £20 per person.

If hand modeling isn’t your thing then there is plenty of opportunity to try the potter’s wheel instead starting at just £30 per person.

The creations will need to dry out before they can be fired and glazed. This process takes about a month and the Pottery will contact participants as soon as they are out of the kiln and ready for collection. Don’t worry if you can’t make it back to Eastnor to collect your ceramic arty-fact, P+P can be arranged at £5 per item.

The Clay bugs and mud monsters project is available as from Tuesday 2 July until Saturday 7 September inclusive. 1.5 hr sessions commence at 10am, 11.30am and 1.30pm and 3pm. Telephone and email booking essential: Tel: 01531 633886 admin@eastnorpottery.co.uk Please note the Pottery is closed Sunday and Monday. We’re also taking a break on Saturday 31st August.

We look forward to seeing you at some point over the Summer.
