Children’s Hands – on Pottery Sessions in the Easter Holidays
Spring into Sculpture
Wed 19 April 2017
We are delighted to announce details of our fun & creative children’s pottery workshop sessions scheduled for the approaching school holiday.
‘Spring into Sculpture’ provides the theme for some seasonally inspired clay modelling fun.
Young pottery enthusiasts will sample a range of pottery making techniques when they construct their sculpture. They will roll out long thin snakes of clay and layer them on top of one another to make the main structure – this is an ancient technique called coiling, recently featured on BBC2’s Great Pottery Throw Down programme.
The children will then explore the pinch pot technique to make a Spring inspired fluffy chick, wee lamb or baby rabbit to sit proudly on top of their coil pot creation.
The resulting artworks will be fired, glazed and ready for collection from the Pottery approx. three weeks following the workshops.
1.5 hr sessions commence at 11.30am (4-8yrs) and 2pm (9-12yrs) although, these age ranges are not strictly policed as younger and older siblings are always welcome on either session.
Places cost £15 per head with a 10% discount for x3 or more places booked. Telephone and email booking essential: Tel: 01531 633886 e: admin@eastnorpottery.co.uk
