Children’s birthday parties from £20 per child
A unique, creative and very memorable way for your child and friends to celebrate their birthday. Work with professional artist potters and real hands on clay to produce ceramic birthday keepsakes.
How to book in three easy steps…
1) Choose one of the two fun projects listed below and consider adding a go on the potter’s wheel or make a collaborative commemorative pot. All sessions last 1.5 hrs and you’ll need a minimum of 10 participants
Pinch-pot sculpture: £20
Create a hollow ball by joining two pinch-pot bowls together. Mould, manipulate and sculpt your sphere into anything you like – vegetable, mineral or animal! Paint your fabulous creation with a kaleidoscope of under glaze colours.
Coil-pot creations: £30
Classic making technique of rolling snakes of clay, stacking ‘em up on top of each other and then smoothing them off to create a vessel. perfect for making a mug, jug, pencil pot or lantern.
Potter’s wheel: £15. Add this to either of the two projects above and everybody in your group gets to make a pot on the potter’s wheel too.
Collaborative pot: £30. Commission a collaborative pot that all the party guests help make, presented to the birthday girl/boy ablaze with birthday candles. This will be fired in the Pottery kilns along with the rest of the children’s creations.
2) Contact the Pottery using the booking enquiry form with the following details:
Preferred date and time
Child’s name & age.
Number of participants
Project option + optional extras
3) Once a date and time have been agreed, we require a non returnable £50 deposit to secure the booking. This can be deposited via BACS (Account no: 03830985 Sort code: 09-01-50) or by cheque (made payable to Eastnor Pottery and posted to Eastnor Pottery, Home Farm, Eastnor, Ledbury, Hfds, HR8 1RD) Once we have received your £50 deposit, we’ll email you confirmation. The balance of payment is required 7 days prior to your workshop.
Clothes: The party sessions are no-where near as mucky as you may at first think! However, the wearing of old clothes is advisable – best dress and party frocks to be avoided!
Food: Although we are unable to provide food, many of our customers like to bring a picnic. This can be consumed either on the pottery lawn or, as a wet weather alternative, in the studio (once the clay has been tidied away.) We allow ½ hr after the workshop session for picnics.
Finished work: The children’s work will need to dry thoroughly before it can be fired. This takes approx. one month. We’ll contact you once the glazed beauties have emerged from the kiln and the work can be collected during Pottery opening hours Tuesday – Saturday 10am – 4pm.
Planning a smaller party? Why not take advantage of our pre-bookable ‘Intro to the potter’s wheel’ sessions for individuals, families and small groups.
A happy customer:
“Such a lovely afternoon with a bunch of 9 year old party-goers. Jon and the staff were so easygoing and relaxed which meant that the entire experience was stress-free and pleasant. The children made the terracotta nightlights which was the perfect balance between instruction and creativity. Working with the wheel was so hypnotic and fun that I’m thinking about going back for my own birthday!” Estelle
