Jon has a collection of bee and bug shakers for sale at Contemporary Ceramics in London

The gallery is the shop window for the Craft Potters Association of Great Britain (CPA) and exhibits the greatest collectible names in British ceramics alongside the most up and coming artists of today.

Although Jon’s been a professional member of the CPA ever since the start of his career as a maker, this is the first time he’s exhibited in their bi-monthly Rotation programme.

Although the gallery is currently closed during Lockdown, they have developed an amazing and comprehensive online shop featuring the work of 80 makers for sale at any one time.

Check it out!

hand made egg cups and espresso mugs by eastnor potter sarah monkWith all the fabulous and inspiring courses and classes that take place at Eastnor Pottery & The Flying Potter, one might be forgiven for thinking this is the sole business activity. Far from it!

Artist founders Sarah Monk and Jon Williams  are makers in their own right and exhibit their unique ceramic designs in exhibitions and galleries all over the country.

Over the past 12 months Sarah has been developing her online shop which is brimming with examples of her small batch and one off creations. So, if you are searching for that one off, unique hand made Christmas gift, you know where to look!

Oh, and for those that prefer to experience pottery ‘in the flesh’ many of Sarah’s and Jon’s pots can be perused and purchased from the studio shop at the Pottery on the Eastnor Castle Estate. The Pottery shop is open Tuesday – Saturday 10am – 4pm by appointment only. Please email admin@eastnorpottery.co.uk or call 01531 633886 to book a time slot.

25 years ago to the day, two young pottery graduates from Bath arrived in Herefordshire to set up their studio on the idyllic Eastnor Castle Estate!

It’s safe to say the business has grown and developed in ways the couple could not have imagined when they took on the redundant farm building in which to make their ceramic artwork.

Not long after they arrived Jon and Sarah wrote an article for Ceramic Review:
