No less than five counties, agricultural speaking were represented at Eastnor Pottery on Monday.
The West Midlands region of The National Farmers Union took turns on the potter’s wheel and made a fantastic coat of arms depicting agricultural aspects of Herefordshire, Worcestershire, Warwickshire, Shropshire and Staffordshire.
Once the crest has been fired, glazed and mounted it will hang in the organisation’s office in Telford, serving as a permanent and creative reminder of their team day at Eastnor Pottery.
Judging by all the banners appearing outside restaurants and adverts in the local press, we thought it was high time to throw our hat into the ‘Christmas office party’ ring!
For the past 20 years we’ve been hosting Christmas get-together s for businesses and organisations keen to try a novel and creative alternative to the pub meal.
For as little as £15 per head you can experience the delights of modelling and painting soft clay. An extra £10 will enable party goers to take a spin on the potter’s wheel.
Complementary fresh coffee, tea and biscuits are standard, although a lot of our groups prefer to bring alcoholic refreshments and their own nibbles and eats.
So, if you are looking for that stand out Christmas party activity for your workmates and colleagues, then give us a call on 01531 633886 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
We are open 10am – 4pm Tues – Sat but are more than willing to open up in the evening for groups of x6 or more participants.
The extra studio space afforded by our bakeoff style ‘Potting Tent’ marquee has come in very useful of late. We are able to run separate events and workshops co-currently, effectively doubling our capacity.
A few weeks ago a local housing association organisation booked a half day potter’s wheel teambuilding session. When they made the initial enquiry, they asked if we had conferencing facilities at the Pottery. Our ‘can do’ approach prevailed and we invited team leaders to check out our facilities. They were so wowed with the atmosphere and creative environment, they booked the Potting Tent conferencing suite for x2 department’s team meetings on two separate days.
Both events went swimmingly with participants thoroughly enjoying our hospitality, lunch, refreshments and of course, the clay fueled fun on the potter’s wheel.
Here’s what they had to say about their Eastnor Pottery ‘corporate’ experience:
“Yes!!!! From the moment I dropped in to speak to Sarah to make arrangements for our team away day, I knew I’d chosen the right place to hold our team event. Having the use of the potting tent for our morning activities worked really well and everything was close to hand. Food and refreshments were all first class. Cannot fault anything.
Regarding the pot throwing experience, none of us had thrown a pot before, and after Jon’s careful and detailed instruction, we all managed to get something resembling a pot! All of my team thought the day was fantastic and I know many of us went away and have recommended you to friends and family.
Great fun making our selfies too!
Friendly, warm and welcoming to everyone. Informative, encouraging, helpful and made it fun! You made us all feel relaxed and at ease. Thank you” Nikki
PGL ski team swapped salopettes for aprons in the run up to Christmas and made some truely inspired pinch pot creations. The team booked the studio for their 2016 Christmas office party celebration.
The fired and glazed results are now awaiting collection from the studio and can be viewed here, photographed on an appropriately frosty winter’s morning!
We had great fun working with this group of nursery managers from Busy Bees Childcare. The team get together on a regular basis and at Christmas, they schedule an extra special activity to mark the festive season. This year they chose to make pots at Eastnor Pottery on no less than nine potter’s wheels we provided for them.
The team were in great spirits and thoroughly enjoyed the challenge of wrestling the spinning mud. I think we only had to use the naughty corner once!
The ceramic results of their labour will be fired, glazed and returned – serving as a permanent reminder of their creative and fun 2016 Christmas party.
