close up of clay covered hands on the potter's wheel at eastnor potteryHaving worked with tens of thousands of people over a life-time of social engagement, Jon and Sarah have inspired countless individuals and groups to take up pottery.

Kelvin attended a Potter’s Wheel Weekend Course in October 2018. He was so inspired he spent the next year converting a garage into a pottery studio. He started throwing on the wheel in January this year and opened his kiln after it’s first firing at the beginning of July 2020. He contacted us during lock down to thank us for inspiring him and to share a couple of his creations with us – nice pots Kelvin!

D3 Active hired The Flying Potter to provide pottery sessions to run alongside an impressive carousel of other teambuilding activities at a large scale event in Oxfordshire.

We worked with approx 120 employees in 1 hour long rotational groups of 30 people. It was a fun and creative day and everybody who participated made an individual ceramic sculpture.

The soft clay masterpieces were then transported back to Eastnor Pottery HQ, dried, fired and returned to the client to be treasured as a permanent reminder of a fantastic team event.

If you are looking for a creative teambuilding activity or a unique way to reward your workforce then please take a look at our teambuilding projects and away day opportunities. You can visit us at our studio on the beautiful Eastnor Castle Estate or we are very happy to deliver the Eastnor Pottery experience at a venue of your choosing.

As soon as those delicate yellow petals unfurl, we’re braced for the influx of Spring and Summer visitors – all ages and abilities, keen to experience the delights of the potter’s wheel or learn a new skill. Usually, we are so frantically busy we don’t get to admire the daffodils and revel in the natural beauty of of these amazing flowers.
