Pottery Hand-building Taster Sessions, Eastnor Pottery, HerefordshireMary and friends dropped by the Pottery last week to sample our one and a half hour hand-building taster session.

Once the ladies were settled in and sorted for tea and fresh coffee, they were treated to a coilpot demonstration. Although it is an age old, simple technique, we suggest a variety of approaches and creative interpretation. On this occasion, the participants decided to make personalised mugs – and very striking they were too!

The groups masterpieces will be fired, glazed and ready for collection in a few weeks time.

If you fancy a go yourself, then please contact the pottery (Tel 01531 633886, or email admin@eastnorpottery.co.uk to book your session. Places cost £20 and there’s no minimum order – so you could even come on your own if you so wished!

For the past 12 months or so we’ve been offering our customers the opportunity to spend some quality Eastnor Pottery time, making and painting coil pots. These 1.5 hr sessions have proven popular with groups of friends, families and business collegues. Unlike many of our group workshop services, there is no minimum order, so you could come as a very small group or even as an individual.
Karen and daughter Eve wanted to create a piece of pottery that Eve could include in her school art portfolio.
Mum made a fabulous frog on a lilly pad whist Eve produced a coil-pot figure reminiscent of something out of the cabbage Patch Kids.
If you’re looking for something creative to do over the Christmas holidays, then take at our family workshop page on our website.

We love this fabulous construction made by one of the participants on our one and a half hour taster sessions. In case you’re wondering – it’s a tea-light holder, complete with chimney flue arrangement! If you would like to book a coil-pot taster session please follow this link.

These guys were on holiday in the area and fixed up a 1.5 hr coil pot workshop with us to while away a rainy afternoon.

The family had also been to Monkland Cheese Dairy in the morning and were very complimentary about the visitor experience. On their recommendation we took a family trip and were thoroughly impressed too. Great demo & fantastic cheese! Well worth a visit.

Jo, Alex, Corrine and Becker took advantage of our 1.5 hr coiling taster workshops.
The friends were holidaying in the Ledbury area and fancied a bit of clay relaxation. We’ll now fire their masterpieces and send them on to them in a few weeks time.
