2014 has been a bumper year for pottery hen parties here at Eastnor Pottery Central. Groups of women of all ages have enjoyed making pots on the potter’s wheel, constructing coil pots and modelling clay sculpture.
We love facilitating these sessions as the girls are always up for a good time and are generally appreciative of the unique atmosphere and experience we strive to create. This group of lovely participants was no exception.
Julie & her hens took advantage of our shared potter’s wheel project, spending a fun and “magical” afternoon taking turns on four electric potter’s wheels.

We have a nice little video showing a couple of pottery hen parties in action.
We have seen quite a few clay hedgehogs in our time, but none so beautifuly executed as this one created by one of our Drop-in pottery workshop participants over the Summer. Although the schools have now returned, we are open for short pottery sessions through-out the Autumn, Tuesday – Saturday 10am-5pm. Please contact the Pottery before you travel to check availability. BIG thank you to all the lovely people who have visited us over the Summer hols.
We’ve made a facebook album featuring many aspiring potters, young and not so young! – can you spot yourself?
Recently worked with a leading pharmaceutical company in a beautiful hotel in Marlow Bucks called The Compleat Angler. The 13 strong group made clay sculpture and sampled the delights of the potters wheel after their meeting and before their evening meal.
These event was made possible by our good friends at Eventurous in the West Midlands.
Please take a look at our dedicated webpage for pottery teambuilding and breakout services.
Got to spend a lovely morning in the company of Ledbury’s Evergreens at Ledbury Primary School.
Evergreens is a well-established club (in its 48th year) providing a weekly meeting for senior citizens within the Ledbury area to meet for a chat and Tea. Once a month they arrange an outing/or “treat”. Last week’s treat – Jon the Potter, a selection of articulate YR5 students and a bag of clay!
The children chatted with the Evergreen’s about their School’s values based education before helping members construct their own ‘values’ based story pots based upon their life long experience.
Lots of stories, anecdotes and lively discussion – oh and some super clay constructions too.
