We loved collaborating with these guys to make a stunning terracotta planter to commemorate Jeanette’s mum’s 70th birthday.

Three generations gathered at the Pottery to build, from scratch, a giant pot using the coiling technique. Once the surface had been smoothed off, the family set about making little clay models to decorate the surface – each clay model related to or referenced a story about the birthday girl. The end result, an encrusted and unique masterpiece that will look absolutely fabulous planted up and displayed in the garden or conservatory.

Family Pottery Fun in ½ term

HALF TERM HEDGEHOGS

26th & 27th October 2021

We’re delighted to announce details of our fun pottery sessions for families in the rapidly approaching October ½ term holiday.

Hedgehogs provide the inspiration for the autumnal clay fueled creativity.

Participants of all ages and abilities will each make a terracotta hedgehog using the hand modelling pinch-pot technique. They will also be encouraged to paint their creations with a creamy white slip – perfect for scratching through to reveal the raw terracotta clay underneath. Connoisseurs of the clay arts will know this technique as sgraffito, a very satisfying and fun method of pottery decoration.

The hedgehogs will be fired, glazed and ready for collection from the Pottery one month later. Don’t worry if you are unable to collect, P+P is available at £5 per item.

1.5 hr sessions commence at 9.30am, 11.30am and 2pm and cost £20 per person. Under 12’s must be accompanied by at least one fee paying adult. Places can be booked online by visiting our website page dedicated to clay modelling (scroll down to the orange button!) or calling 01531 633886.

pottery hen party

large hen party group enjoyed making pots on the potters wheel at eastnor pottery

A sunny Saturday afternoon in early September was jam packed with laughter, positive vibes and glorious mess as we marked the welcome return of large groups to the studio.

Rosy’s hen party was sooooo much fun and the girls were delightful.

Here’s what Rosy had to say about their experience at Eastnor Pottery:

“Myself and 13 friends came here on my hen party last week and had an awesome time! After a great introduction and demo from Jon we made two pots each and it wasn’t as hard as it first seemed. It was lots of fun and the whole group was laughing. Jon and Sarah were great and made it really fun, they provided lots of help and advice to those who found it a little more challenging! Would definitely recommend as a group activity if you’re in the area :)”
