Swedish ceramics student erika and her boyfriend help wedge clay for pottery course participants at eastnor pottery herefordshireParticipants come from all over the UK to sample the creative and relaxing atmosphere at Eastnor Pottery, but I don’t think we’d ever had anybody from as far as Sweden before this weekend.

Erika & her Fiance Lucas arrived on Friday, halfway through a mini tour of the Uk. Erika is in her final year of study on a ceramics course in Linköpings and part of the course requires students to seek out work experience.

Erika decided to undertake hers in the UK and got in touch a few months ago offering her services.

The pair did a wonderful job assisting on our November weekend potter’s wheel workshops. Perhaps the most welcome contribution, wedging vast amounts of clay for the participants to use on the wheel, an exhausting task usually undertaken by yours truly – beats going to the gym!

Erika & Lucas have a keen interest in photography and were snapping away at the weekend. When the pair get home they’ll be sending a disk of pictures which we’ll publish here on the blog. In the mean time, here’s a few photos taken on my compact camera.

Erika’s ceramic work can be seen here, and thanks once again guys for all your hard work at the weekend.
